Help rewrite the way foster care begins
Our Mission
Nanna’s House is an organization aimed to help ease the transition into foster care. We provide supply kits to case workers for children to have what they need for the first few days of care. These kits are specific to the age and needs of the individual child. A kit for an infant includes diapers, wipes, a bottle, formula, clothes, a blanket, a stuffed animal and toiletries for example. These kits allow resource families to focus on the child for the first few days and not have to run to the store for supplies. Nanna’s House is hoping to expand to provide a physical location for DHHS caseworkers to receive these items and a welcoming environment to wait while they are working on placement for the child. In the meantime, we are working hard to build our stock of supplies to make sure every child coming in to care through the Portland office, has what they need.
Our mission at Nanna’s House is to partner with the community in providing loving support and resources to children awaiting placement into foster care and the adults who care for them.
